Today is March 1st and it’s also “plan for solo travel day”!! (I can’t believe it’s March already.) What more motivation could you possibly need to finally plan that getaway you’ve been dreaming of? Spring is almost here, travel is slowly getting safer again and it’s a holiday! Still need some more inspiration? Here are 5 awesome destinations for exploring solito (that means solo in Spanish!):

1-San Francisco, California

Eat at the Mission District and tour the city in a side car! Or if you’re feeling even more adventurous, ride a ferry from Fisherman’s Wharf to Alcatraz Island, a former high-security prison. Don’t miss out on all of the art that the city has to offer, the beach and delicious food like clam chowder in a bread bowl.

2- Bayfield, Wisconsin

Full of yesterday charm, what began as a village built by lumbermen and railroad barons has evolved to become a vibrant community of artists, sailors, and fishermen. Enjoy famous white fish tacos from the rooftop at The Bayfield Inn. Enjoy the expansive view of Lake Superior.

3- Charleston, South Carolina

If you’re a foodie, think Southern flavors filled with pastel colors and boutique shopping. With an eclectic mix of local boutiques, luxury retailers, art galleries and independent artisans and clothiers, Charleston offers something special for everyone. Head to the historic Charleston City Market for treasured souvenirs (such as beautiful sweetgrass baskets). Rent bikes or walk along The Battery, an area lines with antebellum homes on one side and Charleston Harbor on the other. From there, stroll past Charleston's beloved Rainbow Row toward Waterfront Park.

4- Big Sur, California

Big Sur is not just one town or one park or one beach; it’s a big stretch of the California coast—more than 80 miles of Highway 1 winding between the Pacific Ocean and the peaks that look down on it. Perfect for a camping getaway.

5- Santa Fe, New Mexico

Start Your Day With a Frenchy Breakfast at Clafoutis then head to Meow Wolf for an interactive art experience. Eat all of the Mexican Food at The Shed and then with a full stomach explore downtown old Santa Fe. Make sure you leave time to check out the Hot Springs in the evening!

Okay, okay here’s an extra…Sanibel, Florida. So many seashells!
